Osun-born Aliyat emerges best graduating student at Anambra school

Miss Saka Aliyat, an indigene of Osun State, has emerged as the overall best graduating student of Choice De Immaculate Demonstration School (CIDS), Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Aliyat made history during the school’s 15th Valedictory/Sendforth Ceremony and Prize Giving Day, clinching multiple subject awards including Igbo Language, English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Economics, and Marketing.

In addition to academic honours, she received awards for Best Student in Neatest/Complete Uniform, Affinity to Students, Most Hardworking Student, Most Disciplined, and Most Punctual.

Speaking at the event, Aliyat encouraged her fellow students to remain focused and committed to their studies. She urged them to follow the guidance of their teachers and the school’s director, whom she described as her mentor.

“Success comes with interest, enthusiasm, dedication, diligence and hard work,” she said.

Earlier, the Director of the school, Mr. Solomy Ochokwu, charged the graduating students to be courageous and resilient as they transition into the larger society.

“We are confident that as you embark on your next chapter, you will do so with boldness and purpose,” he said. “Wear the armour of resilience because the world will test you. Fight back with integrity and a relentless work ethic.”

Ochokwu urged the students to uphold the values instilled in them during their time at the school and to honour their parents for their support.

He added, “If you persist in these virtues, success will surely come your way.”
