The Akinrun of Ikirun, Oba AbdulRauf Olawale Adedeji, is dead.
The Osun State Government announced this via its Twitter handle on Thursday.
The PUNCH reports that there had been anxiety over the monarch’s health since Tuesday.
The cause of his death could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
The statement read, “The Akinrun of Ikirun, Oba AbdulRauf Olawale Adedeji, has passed on.
“Akirun, who mounted the royal stool in 1991, reportedly died at about 11:00 pm on Wednesday, after a brief a illness.
“The former banker was a committed progressive and a member of the Council of Obas.”
