The Adamawa State Police Command has launched a full investigation into the kidnapping and killing of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Beecroft Wenisefrus Dankunama, in Lamurde Local Government Area of the state.

Dankunama, who bore state code KT/24C/1218, was a native of the Tsobo community in Furtu, Lamurde LGA, and was reportedly murdered on Saturday, December 20, 2025, while returning home.

According to the Tsobo Youth Development Association (TYDA), the deceased corps member was deployed to Katsina State for his national service and had briefly returned to Adamawa to seek medical attention before resuming duty. The association said Dankunama was last seen in Lafiya while traveling to Furtu through Lamurde, but never arrived at his destination.

Local sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, alleged that Dankunama was stopped in Lamurde, identified, abducted, and later killed by youths suspected to be militias.
