Three suspected gunrunners arrested in Katsina
The Katsina State Police Command has arrested three suspected notorious gunrunners and recovered a large cache of ammunition.
The spokesperson of the command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, paraded the suspects before newsmen on Friday, August 30, 2024, described the arrest as a significant breakthrough in its fight against banditry and gunrunning.
“The suspects, identified as Ahmed Mohammed Kabir, 25, of Hayin Danmani quarters, Kaduna State, Mannir Musa, 25, of Dutsinma town, Dutsinma LGA, Aliyu Iliya, 25, of Dankauye village via Ummadau, Safana LGA, Katsina State were apprehended at Dutsinma town, Dutsinma LGA, while attempting to deliver 740 rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition to suspected armed bandits in Yauni forest, Ummadau village, Safana LGA of Katsina State.
