Police Commission Appoints New DIG, Promotes 2 AIGs, 26,119 Inspectors Nationwide

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has strengthened leadership and operational capacity within the Nigeria Police Force by appointing a new Deputy Inspector General (DIG), promoting two Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and elevating 26,119 Inspectors across the country.

The newly appointed DIG is expected to provide strategic oversight at the national level, managing critical operational and administrative functions to enhance the efficiency of policing nationwide. The promotion of AIGs will further bolster leadership in regional and departmental command structures, ensuring smooth coordination and effective enforcement of law and order.

The elevation of Inspectors recognizes performance, professionalism, and dedication, boosting morale among officers and reinforcing a culture of meritocracy within the force. The PSC emphasized that promotions were based on seniority, competence, and demonstrated commitment to public service.
