Police Launch Investigation Into Killing of Pastor in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the killing of Pastor Emmanuel Ezeoikwe, who was shot dead by suspected gunmen in Zinai Village, Bolki, Song Local Government Area of the state.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yahaya Nguroje, the assailants stormed the community and opened fire on the cleric before fleeing the scene. The incident has triggered renewed concern over rising insecurity in parts of Adamawa State.
Police operatives who responded to the distress call reportedly arrived at the scene shortly after the attack and found the pastor lying lifeless. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where a medical doctor confirmed him dead.
His body has since been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy as part of ongoing investigations.

During preliminary examination of the crime scene, investigators recovered three expended AK-47 rifle shells, which have been taken as exhibits to assist forensic analysis and intelligence gathering.
The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, to conduct a discreet and thorough investigation into the incident. Tactical teams have also been deployed to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
Authorities have urged residents of the affected community and the wider public to remain calm while cooperating with security agencies by providing credible information that could assist in identifying those responsible for the killing.
The police assured that efforts are ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack and prevent further escalation of violence in the area.
The incident adds to growing security concerns in rural communities across parts of northern Nigeria, where sporadic armed attacks have continued to raise alarm among residents and religious leaders.
