Police officer faces disciplinary action for assaulting Uber driver
Inspector Obic Modestus has been summoned for disciplinary action after a viral video emerged showing him assaulting an Uber driver in Lagos.
The video, shared on social media platform X by user @dammiedammie35 (Oyindamola), has drawn widespread condemnation from the public.
In the footage, Inspector Modestus was seen physically attacking the driver while shouting, “Are you mad?”
Despite passengers’ pleas for him to stop, the officer allegedly dragged the driver into a police vehicle and later returned to demand the deletion of the video.

Reacting to the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) has summoned Inspector Modestus.
He added that the officer will be handed over to the Provost Department for appropriate disciplinary action.
