Portable says ‘hunger dey’ protesters are lazy
Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has voiced his opinion on the ongoing Hunger Dey vs #Endbadgovernance protests across the country.
Portable, in a recent video, criticized the protesters, labeling many of them as lazy and unwilling to work.
According to reports, thousands of Nigerians took to the streets on Thursday, August 1, in various states to protest against hunger and economic hardship.
Portable, however, argued that a significant number of the youth participating in the protests are not genuinely seeking employment but are instead engaging in unlawful activities.
He emphasized that the problem is not solely bad governance but also the bad elements within the society.
The singer went on to condemn the vandalism of public amenities and private properties, attributing these destructive actions to the protesters rather than the government.
He urged for an end to both bad governance and bad behavior among citizens.
In his words;
“Most of the protesters are lazy people. If you see work, shey, you go do it? no be thief and bag snatcher you go dey do? now you’re shouting end bad government, make dem end bad people too. is it the government that is burning tyres and breaking people’s cars?
