Queen Zaynab, Formerly Married to Ooni of Ife, Marries SGF George Akume
The family of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has officially announced his marriage to Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh, formerly known as Zaynab Otiti Obanor, according to a report by Sahara Reporters.
The announcement was made public on Friday via a Facebook post by Abraham Double-d Dajoh on behalf of the Akume Dajoh family. In the statement, the family welcomed Queen Zaynab into the Dajoh household and described her as Akume’s wife, extending goodwill messages to supporters of the SGF.
“We, the entire Dajoh Family, happily join our daddy, uncle, and brother, His Excellency, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume Jugu Dajoh, in welcoming his new and uncommon wife, Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh, into the Dajoh family,” the statement read.

The family also thanked Akume’s supporters, urging them to continue backing the SGF in this new chapter of his life.
“We appreciate and thank the fans and supporters of Sen. Akume for always standing by him. We enjoin everyone to continue to support his Excellency even in this beautiful union with Queen Zaynab. We wish you all a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year,” the message added.

Queen Zaynab was previously married to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. Their traditional wedding took place on March 12, 2016, in Benin City, Edo State, followed by a thanksgiving service and reception on March 13, 2016, at the Royal Court of Ife, Osun State. She was then known as Olori Wuraola.
The marriage ended on August 30, 2017, after about 17 months. In an official statement, Queen Zaynab dismissed rumours of infidelity and infertility, confirming that the union had ended and noting that she would continue her humanitarian work with the United Nations. Following the separation, she reverted to her maiden name, Zaynab Otiti Obanor, and relocated to Doha, Qatar.
