The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a police inspector following a tragic accidental shooting that left one officer dead and another injured. The incident occurred while officers were travelling on official duty in Port Harcourt, highlighting concerns over firearm safety and discipline within the police force.
The suspect, identified as Inspector Victor Okus, reportedly mishandled his service weapon, resulting in the death of Inspector Ibrahim Sani and serious injury to Inspector Daniel Dauda. Authorities confirmed that Okus has been detained at the Trans‑Amadi Divisional Headquarters as investigations continue.
