Ron Filipkowski Questions Trump’s mental stability over threat to attack Nigeria

An American criminal defense attorney and former state and federal prosecutor, Ron Filipkowski, has suggested that U.S. President Donald Trump may be mentally unstable following his recent comments hinting at possible military action against Nigeria.

In a post shared on his X account on Sunday, Filipkowski reacted to Trump’s remarks, saying:

“At some point we might have to consider the fact that he might be mentally unstable.”

His comment came shortly after Trump, in a statement on his Truth Social account on Saturday, directed the U.S. Department of War to prepare for a potential military strike against Nigeria. Trump accused the Nigerian government of “allowing the killing of Christians” across the country.

The U.S. president warned that America would immediately suspend all aid and assistance to Nigeria if the reported attacks on Christians persist. He further hinted at a possible intervention to, in his words, “completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists” allegedly responsible for the violence.

Trump declared:

“If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria and may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.”

He added that he had instructed the Department of War to “prepare for possible action”, describing any potential response as “fast, vicious, and sweet.”

“WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!” Trump warned.

The president also claimed that Christianity in Nigeria faces an existential threat, reiterating his earlier stance that the country should be classified as a “country of particular concern.”

Trump urged Congress to investigate what he described as the persecution of Christians in Nigeria, insisting that the United States would not stand idly by while Christian communities face violence both in Nigeria and globally.

“America will always defend Christians around the world,” Trump emphasized.
