Shocking Confession: Boyfriend admits luring FRSC officer, child to death in Osun ritual murder

The boyfriend of slain FRSC officer, Lasisi Funmilayo, and her daughter, Sewa Lasisi, has confessed to luring the victims from Ogun State to their deaths in Osun after being told by an Islamic cleric that the deceased had “used his glory.”

The suspect, Victor Fajemirokun, 40, was paraded on Wednesday alongside two herbalists — Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James — at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo. Their arrests followed the discovery of Funmilayo and her daughter’s mutilated bodies at a suspected ritualists’ den.

Funmilayo, 39, and her daughter were earlier declared missing in Ogun after leaving their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on November 2. Their remains were later found with several body parts missing, in what authorities believe to be a ritual killing.

Speaking to journalists, Fajemirokun claimed he acted under “spiritual manipulation.” He said a cleric told him that “as long as Funmilayo was alive,” he would never prosper, prompting him to lure her and her daughter from Ogun to Ijebu-Jesa in Osun State.

“I met Gboyega on TikTok. He told me Funmilayo was behind my misfortune and asked me to bring her. When we got to the bush, they instructed three men to take her for rituals. It was in the bush we killed her. The daughter followed us. After killing them, I ran to a mountain in Ikoyi,” he recounted.

One of the herbalists, Sunday James, admitted to slitting the victims’ throats on the instruction of his boss, Daramola. He said the deceased were later dismembered.

CP Ibrahim Gotan, confirming the arrests, explained that intelligence-led investigations uncovered the crime. Daramola first confessed on November 16, revealing that Fajemirokun brought the victims for “money rituals.” He then led detectives to Esa-Odo Dam, where Funmilayo’s decomposed body was found with missing head, breasts, hands, and private parts.

Further investigations led to the arrest of James in Ekiti State, who subsequently led detectives to where the daughter, Sewa, was buried. Her body was also found with missing vital parts, including head, hands, and feet.

After the killings, Fajemirokun fled Nigeria and was tracked to Ghana, where he was arrested with the help of Interpol and repatriated to Nigeria.

CP Gotan assured the public that the suspects would face prosecution once investigations are concluded, adding that efforts were ongoing to arrest additional accomplices.

The grisly incident has sparked renewed concerns over ritual killings, rising insecurity, and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals by fraudulent spiritualists in parts of the country.
