Super Eagles Captain Wilfred Ndidi Loses Father in Tragic Road Crash

The Nigerian football community has been thrown into mourning following the death of Mr. Sunday Ndidi, father of Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi, who died in a fatal road crash in Delta State.

According to multiple reports, Mr. Ndidi was involved in a road traffic accident on Tuesday around Umunede, Delta State. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in Agbor, where he was later confirmed dead by medical personnel.

The late Sunday Ndidi was said to be a retired military officer and a strong supporter of his son’s football career, from grassroots level to international stardom.

Tributes have continued to pour in from across the football world. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing it as a painful moment for the Super Eagles family. The National Sports Commission (NSC) also extended its condolences to Ndidi and his family, urging them to take solace in the legacy left behind by the deceased.

Wilfred Ndidi, who currently captains the Super Eagles of Nigeria, has yet to make a personal statement, but sources close to the midfielder say he has been deeply affected by the tragic news.

The Leicester City and Nigeria star recently led the national team during international engagements, making the loss an especially emotional one for the player and his supporters nationwide.
