Tinubu holds Southsouth town hall meeting in Calabar

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the campaign visit of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to Calabar, the Cross River State, has announced that all is set to host him in a town hall meeting with stakeholders in the Southsouth states.

The Deputy Director of the Presidential Campaign Council and Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the LOC for Southsouth zonal town hall meeting, Dr. Julius Okputu, announced this while addressing reporters yesterday in Calabar, the state capital.

He said arrangements had reached the peak to host Asiwaju Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, at the town hall meeting today at the Auditorium of the Cultural Centre complex in Calabar.

Okputu said: “We are fully prepared for Asiwaju’s visit to Calabar for a town hall meeting with people of the Southsouth.

“Preparations are in top gear to give a warm welcome to our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu who will share his visions and programmes with the people of the Southsouth.

“The state has so much to put in place for the incoming President, by God’s grace, to implement, especially in the area of agro-industrialisation, job creation, robust manufacturing and sustained innovation, establish a national security architecture to obliterate terror, banditry, kidnapping, among other ills.

“Our expectation is that the Southsouth would have something to present in their agenda.”

While describing Asiwaju Tinubu as a man with track record who governed Lagos with policies and initiatives that rebranded and separated the state from ordinary Nigeria’s box.

He stressed that with Asiwaju Tinubu at the helms of affairs, Nigeria would be great again.

Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade had visited the venue of the town hall meeting and expressed satisfaction with the arrangement.
