Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, yesterday picked holes in the Western solution to energy transition.
He said Nigeria deserved compensation from the Western world for using Nigeria’s resources to develop their economies.
The APC standard bearer spoke at the inauguration of the Kolmani Integrated Development Project (KIPRO), in Barambu (Gongola Basin), a community between Bauchi and Gombe states.
He lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for courageously telling the West the feeling of Nigerians in a recent opinion published in one of their leading tabloids.
“The only thing that I may want to exclude and argue is the West and Europe. They used our coal and fossil fuel to develop their economy and they ask us to be conscious. But I like your answer. We cannot stay hungry and starve to death. We have to take care of ourselves, unless they pay compensation for it. That’s where we stand.
“This discovery will provide multiplicity of opportunities and great prosperity for Nigeria. We will continue where your premised the country; forward looking, renewed hope and success, prosperity for Nigeria.” “Anytime we discuss the lack of food and the challenges of terrorism, you will talk about Lake Chad. Okay, let me assure you, if I’m elected the president, I will recharge Lake Chad,” he said.
Describing the inauguration as historic achievement, the former Lagos governor said he had always believed that every part of the country has the resources to develop its potentials.
