The Ministers of Transport and Marine & Blue Economy are among key dignitaries confirmed to attend the 2025 Transportation Correspondents Association of Nigeria (TCAN) Summit, scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Now in its second edition, the TCAN Summit is fast becoming a pivotal annual platform for dialogue among stakeholders in Nigeria’s transportation industry. Themed “Driving the Transport Logistics Value Chains for Economic Growth,” this year’s event aims to generate actionable solutions to the pressing issues affecting the nation’s transport and logistics ecosystem.

Dr. Kayode Opeifa, Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), will deliver the keynote address.

He will be joined by a distinguished panel discussing key industry topics, including:

Intermodal Cargo Evacuation from Ports – Benefits and Challenges

Waterways Transportation Code – Implementation and Enforcement Hurdles

100 Years of Aviation in Nigeria – Reflections on Achievements and Missed Opportunities

Maritime Insecurity – Impact on Trade Routes and National Economy

Participating agencies and organizations include the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA), Dangote Industries Limited, and Trucks Transit Parks (TTP), among others.

Speaking ahead of the summit, TCAN Chairman, Mr. Tola Adenubi, lauded the commitment of stakeholders and their readiness to collaborate on solutions for improving Nigeria’s transport logistics chain.

“We are thrilled by the level of interest this summit has generated,” Adenubi said. “The participation of key stakeholders signals a shared desire to address longstanding issues in our transport system and unlock new opportunities for economic growth.”

He encouraged industry players to leverage the summit as a platform to showcase their contributions to Nigeria’s logistics development, adding that effective collaboration across regulatory, operational, and investigative arms of the sector is essential for progress.

TCAN comprises journalists from leading national newspapers, television stations, and online platforms who report on Nigeria’s transportation sector. The association operates under the umbrella of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
