Troops Neutralise 17 Terrorists, Disrupt Insurgent Logistics in Borno

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have disrupted a major terrorist logistics operation and neutralised 17 suspected insurgents during a coordinated ambush in Borno State.

The operation, which took place in the early hours of December 21, 2025, occurred between Sojiri and Kayamla communities in Konduga Local Government Area following credible intelligence on the movement of supplies by suspected JAS/ISWAP terrorists.

According to a military source, OPHK troops, supported by CJTF members and local hunters, deployed to a strategic interception point on the night of December 20. At about 2:24 a.m., the terrorists, riding bicycles and conveying logistics materials, arrived at the location, confirming earlier intelligence.

The troops, positioned in concealed and coordinated formations, immediately engaged the insurgents in a decisive exchange. During the operation, 17 terrorists were neutralised, while others reportedly fled with gunshot wounds.

Items recovered from the scene included bicycles, food items, drugs and medical supplies, detergents, clothing materials, bicycle tyres, torchlights, as well as assorted weapons and ammunition of different calibres.

The ambush team safely withdrew to its base at about 4:20 a.m., while exploitation and follow-up operations are ongoing to further secure the area and deny terrorists freedom of movement.

The source added that troops remain highly motivated, noting that the operation highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-driven joint security efforts in degrading terrorist networks and cutting off their supply chains in the North-East.
