Truck crushes five to death on Epe/Ijebu-Ode Expressway

Five persons, including four male and female adults, were crushed to death on Tuesday night, along Epe/Ijebu-Ode Expressway.

According to the spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi said that an empty white Mack Truck with no registration number was the cause of the accident, due to excessive overspeeding.

The ill-fated truck was reported to have lost control and rammed into an empty Benz low-bed JB construction vehicle and a commercial motorcycle inbound Epe.

The remains of the victims were deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Ijebu-Ode, by the officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The TRACE PRO said, “An empty Mack truck caused the road traffic accident due to excessive speed. The Mack truck was travelling from Epe, crossed the median and hit into a JB truck moving inbound Epe, and also crushed a commercial motorcycle on the same lane”.
