Trump revokes Kamala Harris Secret Service protection
A spokesperson for Kamala Harris confirmed Friday that United President, Donald Trump, has revoked the former vice president’s Secret Service security detail, just weeks before she begins a national tour to promote her upcoming book.
“The spokesperson added that there was no reason given as to why it was removed,” Fox News reported.
According to a senior White House official, former vice presidents are typically guarded by the Secret Service for only six months after leaving office. However, former President Joe Biden signed an executive memorandum granting Harris an extra year of protection beyond that window. Trump rescinded that order on Thursday, meaning her security detail will end on Sept. 1.

A source familiar with the decision told Fox News that the Secret Service was formally notified of the change yesterday. Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, lost his own Secret Service protection in July, The Wall Street Journal previously reported.
Harris is preparing to launch her book tour for “107 Days” in late September, with stops in major cities including New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.
Trump defeated Harris, last year’s Democratic presidential candidate, in the U.S. presidential election.
