Two Kidnapped in Patigi, Kwara as Bandits Invade Manba Community at Night
No fewer than two residents of Manba community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State were abducted late Friday after bandits reportedly infiltrated the area through the Rogun axis.
According to local sources, the attackers stormed the community around 11 p.m., firing shots into the air and sending residents fleeing for safety.
“The gunmen came through Rogun and headed straight into Manba. They operated freely and took two people away,” a community source said, adding that fear has now gripped neighbouring settlements.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies had yet to issue an official statement, and the identities of those kidnapped remain unconfirmed.

The incident comes just days after heightened tension in Lile community, also in Patigi LGA, where multiple terrorists were sighted moving toward the area on dozens of motorcycles.
Residents reported that an armed group — believed to be bandits — travelled in a long convoy of more than 40 motorcycles, each carrying two to three riders. A resident said the alert originated from a nearby village that witnessed the movement firsthand.
“We received a call from a neighbouring village informing us that the notorious bandits were sighted moving in large numbers, over 40 motorcycles, carrying two to three persons each,” the source said.
The convoy reportedly passed through another settlement without confrontation before heading toward Lile.
“They passed through the neighbouring village and headed directly towards Lile community. Their current location is unknown,” the source added.
Several communities in Kwara State have recorded deadly bandit attacks in recent weeks, raising fresh concerns over rural security and mobility of armed groups across the region.
