Victor Osimhen Finishes Fifth Among World’s Top Goalscorers in 2025
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has finished as the fifth highest goalscorer in world football for the year 2025, capping a prolific 12 months for both club and country.
The 27-year-old Nigerian forward recorded 46 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions, placing him among the elite global marksmen, according to rankings published by ESPN.
Osimhen finished behind only Kylian Mbappé, who topped the chart with 66 goals, Harry Kane with 60, Erling Haaland with 57, and Kevin Hernandez of Puerto Rico SSC, who scored 48 goals.

At international level, Victor Osimhen scored nine goals in nine matches for Nigeria in 2025, with his most recent strike coming against Tunisia in the Super Eagles’ second match at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
At club level, Osimhen enjoyed a historic campaign in Turkey, finishing as the top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig as Galatasaray clinched a league and cup double.
Other notable names on the 2025 goalscoring list include Vangelis Pavlidis of Benfica and Greece with 45 goals, Guilherme Bissoli of Buriram United with 44 goals, Cristiano Ronaldo with 41 goals, and Jorge Rivera of Metropolitan FA with 40 goals.
Osimhen’s ranking further reinforces his status as one of the most lethal forwards in world football and one of Nigeria’s greatest attacking exports in recent history.
