WAEC announces date to release May/June 2025 WASSCE results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has confirmed that results for the May/June 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will be made public on Monday.

This year’s school examination saw participation from 1,973,253 candidates across 23,554 accredited secondary schools.

WAEC’s Head of National Office (HNO), Dr. Amos Dangut, who made this known, said the results will be released during a briefing at the Council’s headquarters in Yaba, Lagos.

The results are expected to boost the prospects of many candidates seeking admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education for the 2024/2025 academic session.

A significant number of those who sat for the examination did so under the “awaiting results” category, with several higher institutions — including private ones — already commencing admission processes and scheduling post-UTME screenings.

“In tune with our recent tradition, the results of candidates sitting the examination will be released 45 days after the conduct of the last paper, while certificates will be printed and issued to schools in less than 90 days after the release of results,” Dr. Dangut stated.

He further revealed that along with the results, digital copies of candidates’ certificates will also be available via the digital certificate platform.
