Another Nigerian chef, Adeola begins 150-hour cook-a-thon to break Guinness records

Adeyeye Adeola, a talented Nigerian chef, has embarked on a remarkable culinary journey to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon (individual).

Adeola’s cook-a-thon began on Friday, June 30, 2023, in the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State and is scheduled to conclude on Thursday, July 6, 2023.

This is coming after another Nigerian chef, Adeparusi Damilola, also known as Chef Dammy embarked on a 120-hour cook-a-thon in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Chef Dammy, a 26-year-old student at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, aimed to push the boundaries of culinary endurance.

Baci’s record-breaking attempt took place from Thursday, May 11 to Monday, May 15, during which she cooked over 100 pots of food over four days.

In an official statement on its website, the Guinness World Records confirmed Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, as the record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with an impressive time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.

The GWR in a statement on its website, said, “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.”

However, Adeola’s 150-hour cook-a-thon if achieved will break Hilda Baci’s record and also set a new world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Nigerians eagerly await the outcome, hoping to witness Adeola’s extraordinary achievement in setting a new Guinness World Record.

‘It’s real’, daughter of New Masquerade actress Ovularia confirms mum’s death

 

Renowned TV actress, Madam Elizabeth Evoeme, popularly known as Ovularia in the rested ‘The New Masquerade’, has passed on.
She died at the age of 81.
Her daughter, Justina Ngozi Evoeme, who is based in London confirmed Ovularia’s death, which she described as painful and shocking.
A statement by the Evoeme Emekalam family read, “Friends, fans, colleagues, the family of the legendary actress, Elizabeth Lizzy ‘Ovularia’ Evoeme, would like to notify the public, all those who loved her and her work in ‘The new Masquerade,’ of her passing.
“Elizabeth ‘Ovularia’ Evoeme will be dearly missed and was extremely loved by her family and also by you, her fans.
“We thank you all for your support and for respecting our privacy at this time.
“God bless you all and may our dear Elizabeth ‘Ovularia’ Evoeme rest in perfect peace, now and always.”
He death came over four and a half years after a widespread speculation that she was dead.
This was exactly on November 5, 2019 as announced on Twitter (X) by one Churchill Ebhodaghe without any detail regarding the cause of her rumoured death.
Her on-screen husband, Chika Okpala popular called Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwaogbe alias 4.30 in the sitcom, dismissed the rumour then.

“Who’s wishing her dead? I am telling you now that Ovularia is not dead. You can call her on the telephone and she will speak to you.

“Wishing her death means that she will live longer,” Zebrudaya reportedly said.

Vanguard on Tuesday quoted her daughter Justina as saying on Tuesday via telephone, “It is not a rumour this time. It is real and very painful.”

Sanwo-Olu appoints KWAM1’S daughter as aide

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has appointed Basirat Damilola Marshall as the Senior Special Assistant on Tourism.

Damilola Marshall, the daughter of Fuji maestro, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall popularly known as KWAM1, disclosed this on her Instanstory on Instagram Thursday.

Her appointment has been attracting congratulatory messages from Nigerians.

In a recent viral video, KWAM1, during a performance at the coronation and birthday reception of Oba Sikirullah Apena on Thursday, thanked Sanwo-Olu for appointing his daughter into his cabinet.

The fuji singer noted that it was his daughter, Damilola, who asked him to publicly thank the governor for her appointment.

She posted a flier with the logo of the Lagos State Government on her Instastory with, “Contraulations! Barrister Damilola Basirat Ayinde Marshall Esq on being appointed as SSA to the Governor of Lagos on Tourism.”

Congratulating her on the appointment, a Nigerian, Olanrewaju-Smart Wasiu, wrote, “Congratulations Barr. @damimarshall_ on your appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism. This is a deserving recognition for your hard work and contributions to our party”, to which she responded by saying “Thank you, sir.”

Another person, Balogun Basia wrote, “Please, join me in congratulating my friend K1 and the entire family on the appointment of my daughter Barrister Basirat Damilola Marshall as the SSA to the governor of Lagos State on Tourism. Damilola, this shall be the beginning of many good things that will come your way and that of your siblings Insha Allah, Alaumoh Amin.”
