BREAKING: Veteran Nollywood actor, Adeyemi, is dead
Chief Yemi Adeyemi, popularly called Suara, the star of one of Wale Adenuga Productions’ Super Story series, has died.
Dr. Shaibu Husseini, a well-known theatre practitioner, academic and critic, said on Monday that Chief Adeyemi died on September 24, 2023.
“I have been reliably informed that veteran actor Chief Yemi Adeyemi aka Suara has transited.

“Popular as Suara, Chief Adeyemi rode to prominence playing Suara in the long rested ‘Oh Father, Oh Daughter’ series of the hugely popular Super Story stories by Wale Adenuga Productions.
“Baba Suara as some of us his younger colleagues simply called him, reportedly “acted out” this Sunday. Journey well Baba Suara. You will be sorely missed. Odigba Sir. Journey Well…..”
Chief Adeyemi became popular for his role as Suara, who was paired with veteran sizzling actress Sola Sobowale for her role as Toyin Tomato.
The cause of the actor’s death is yet to be announced by family members.

Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe has shared insights into her decision to marry popular movie marketer Kazim Adeoti, also known as Adekaz.
Speaking as a guest on Nollywood on Radio, Aigbe revealed that having a partner within the entertainment industry was a significant factor in her choice.
“One of the reasons I married him is that we’re both in the same industry,” Aigbe explained. “Together, we’re building a production empire. I just felt I needed someone in the industry to collaborate with, and it’s a good thing that he understands it too. Combining our strengths, the future looks promising.

Aigbe’s 2023 cinema movie, Ada Omo Daddy, has already showcased the synergy between her and Adeoti, marking her successful cinema debut. Reflecting on the project’s reception, she said, “The feedback was amazing. I was a bit nervous as it was my first cinema debut, and there was heavy competition from established names in the cinema sector. But I was confident because I knew I had a sellable product.”
Aigbe also added that her intention is to be on all platforms she can make money from.
“I wont just be on cinemas I will be on all paltforms I can make money from”

Popular actress and filmmaker Eniola Ajao recently shared a harrowing experience on Nollywood on Radio, a show dedicated to Nigerian cinema.
She revealed the emotional toll that false news online had taken on her mental health, describing how she once nearly poisoned herself in response to a hurtful rumour.
“I almost poisoned myself because there was news about me online that was far from true,” Ajao said. “It was the first time in my life that I faced something so painful. I didn’t eat for seven straight days. People around me can testify – I didn’t go anywhere.”

At the time, she was in the midst of planning her next film, a process that became increasingly difficult due to her emotional state. “My sisters were calling, telling me, ‘You have to do this for yourself. You don’t have to poison yourself.’ My son was reaching out to everyone, saying I was struggling with this lie online,” she shared.
The actress added, “I don’t even want to remember those things, honestly”, she recounted on the show.
