The deceased, said to be widely known within the beauty industry in Kumasi, reportedly died following an altercation with her long-time boyfriend, Francis Arthur, at Ayigya-Maxima on April 14, 2026.
According to police sources, Arthur, a 48-year-old businessman, is currently in custody assisting with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Eyewitness accounts and preliminary police reports indicate that the deceased had visited Arthur’s residence in the company of a female friend after receiving information that another woman had allegedly visited him. Upon arrival, the two women reportedly waited for some time as Arthur was not at home.

Trouble, however, began when Arthur returned and was confronted by Benson over the alleged presence of another woman. The confrontation reportedly escalated into a heated argument.
Police say the situation turned violent during the altercation, with Arthur allegedly assaulting Benson repeatedly until she collapsed.
In an attempt to save her life, the suspect reportedly conveyed the victim in her own vehicle to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Hospital. However, medical personnel on duty pronounced her dead on arrival.
The incident has plunged the family of the deceased into deep mourning, with her father, Apostle Gabriel Oppong, demanding justice.
Speaking to journalists, the bereaved father recounted details of the incident as relayed by his daughter’s friend, expressing shock and grief over the sudden loss.
“My daughter went there after hearing that another woman had visited the man. When he returned, she confronted him, and it led to an argument. We are told he assaulted her until she collapsed. They rushed her to the hospital, but she was already gone,” he said.
He called on authorities to ensure that justice is served, stressing the importance of upholding the rule of law.
“We are in a country governed by law. I believe there are laid down procedures for handling such cases, and that is what I seek for my daughter,” he added.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital mortuary pending autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
