The Nigerian U-17 women’s national football team, the Flamingos, on Sunday evening roundly beat their Liberian opponents 4-1  in the first leg of the final qualifying round for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The Bankole Olowookere-tutored girls outclassed and outsmarted the Liberians  at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in front of their dispirited home fans.

First to score for the Nigerian girls was Abidem Moshood who hit the opponents’ net in the scoring in the 19th minute.
