Lookman scores in back-to-back games to propel Atalanta past Fiorentina
Atalanta continued their impressive run in Serie A with a commanding 2–0 win over Fiorentina at the New Balance Arena in Bergamo on Sunday, thanks to goals from Odilon Kossounou and Ademola Lookman.
The victory came on the back of a 3–0 UEFA Champions League win against Eintracht Frankfurt, with Lookman now scoring in back-to-back matches for the former Europa League champions.
Fiorentina nearly opened the scoring in the 4th minute, but Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi made crucial saves to keep the game level. Atalanta’s pressure grew, with Gianluca Scamacca and Charles De Ketelaere testing Fiorentina’s David de Gea repeatedly.
