Nigeria Police, UK NCA Arrest Seven Over International Financial Scam in Delta
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, working in collaboration with the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (UK NCA), have arrested seven suspects following the discovery and shutdown of an international financial scam centre in Delta State.
Police authorities said the coordinated operation was the outcome of extensive intelligence sharing and joint investigations, which uncovered a syndicate allegedly engaged in cross-border cybercrime and financial fraud. The group is believed to have targeted victims across multiple countries through online scams and digital financial schemes.

During the raid, law enforcement officers recovered computers, mobile devices, internet equipment, and other digital tools suspected to have been used in carrying out fraudulent financial activities, including identity theft and online investment scams.
The police described the bust as a significant breakthrough in the fight against transnational financial crime, noting that the involvement of the UK NCA highlights the international dimension of the alleged operation. Investigators believe the suspects were part of a wider network with links beyond Nigeria.
Authorities said the suspects were arrested at the scene and are currently undergoing further investigation. They are expected to be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
The Nigeria Police reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening international law enforcement cooperation and intensifying efforts to combat cybercrime, online fraud, and money laundering, crimes which continue to threaten economic security and damage Nigeria’s global reputation.
