Osimhen scores twice in Galatasaray’s 3-1 win over Bodo

Victor Osimhen delivered a masterclass performance on Wednesday night, scoring twice and providing an assist as Galatasaray eased past Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt 3–1 in Istanbul to secure their second consecutive Champions League win.

The Nigerian striker opened the scoring early in the first half, calmly slotting Mario Lemina’s pass into the bottom corner. He doubled the lead shortly after the half-hour mark, capitalizing on a defensive blunder from Fredrik Bjorkan and rounding goalkeeper Nikita Haikin to finish into an empty net—his fifth goal of the season.

Osimhen, who netted a hat trick for Nigeria against Benin just eight days earlier, came close to repeating the feat but missed two clear chances. Nonetheless, he played a pivotal role in Galatasaray’s third goal, dispossessing Haitam Aleesami and setting up Yunus Akgun, who scored at the second attempt.

Bodo/Glimt, still searching for their first group-stage win, struggled to contain Galatasaray’s attacking flair. Despite late efforts from Jens Hauge and Sondre Fet—who struck the post—the visitors managed only a consolation goal through substitute Andreas Helmersen, who headed in Bjorkan’s chipped cross.

The win marks Galatasaray’s first back-to-back Champions League victories since December 2012 and propels them from 21st to 11th in the standings ahead of later fixtures. Manager Okan Buruk’s side continues to build momentum following their narrow triumph over Liverpool in the previous round.

Bodo/Glimt remain on two points from earlier draws and face elimination as the group stage progresses.
