Tinubu to attend new Senegal’s President inauguration Tuesday
President Bola Tinubu will travel to Dakar, Senegal, to attend the inauguration of Bassirou Faye as the country’s new president.
Presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, said this in a statement on Monday.
He said the President’s visit was on the invitation of Senegal.
Faye, 44, won more than 54 percent of votes cast in the country’s delayed presidential poll.
Last week, Senegal’s constitutional council affirmed the presidential election victory of the opposition candidate.
“President Tinubu, who is the Chairman of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, will join other regional leaders to witness the inauguration at Diamniadio Exhibition Centre on Tuesday,” the statement reads.
“The president will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and other senior government officials.”
