Troops Intercept ISWAP Logistics Vans, Recover Food, Vehicle Parts in Borno
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intercepted two pickup vans suspected to be transporting logistics supplies to Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State, following actionable human intelligence.
The interception was confirmed in a statement on Friday by Lt. Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai.
According to the statement, troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), working in close collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), tactically deployed along an identified route and successfully intercepted the vehicles while they were en route from Dapchi, Yobe State, to the Magumeri axis of Borno State.
Items recovered during the operation included two civilian vehicles, 31 spare tyres, 23 spare rims, two bicycles, 12 ignition key starters, three alternators, two bags of flour, one mattress, five bags of charcoal, 34 tubers of yam, two blankets, two nylons of garri, assorted adult and children’s clothing, one power bank, six mobile phones, and cash in various denominations.

Lt. Colonel Uba said the operation was executed swiftly after intelligence reports alerted the Operation Hadin Kai headquarters to the suspicious movement of the items, believed to be intended to sustain ISWAP logistics networks.
“The drivers conveying the items, along with the recovered materials, are currently in military custody for further investigation to establish the level of their involvement and to support ongoing counter-terrorism operations,” the statement said.
He noted that the success of the operation highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-driven military operations and the continued cooperation between security forces and local partners in disrupting terrorist supply chains in the North-East.
The military reassured residents of its commitment to denying terrorists freedom of movement, cutting off logistics and supply routes, and ensuring the safety of law-abiding civilians across the region.
Meanwhile, in a related development, troops of the 1st Brigade, Joint Task Force Operation Fasan Yamma, in January, in collaboration with operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), intercepted a large cache of weapons in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, following intelligence on the activities of suspected Niger Republic-linked arms dealers.
