Tunde Thomas is the father of my children, not FCMB MD – Moyo
Moyo, widow of Tunde Thomas, has finally broken her silence on the controversy over paternity of her two children,
She said in her latest statement that she never told her husband that he was not the father of her children.
There have been reports on social media based on a petition that Moyo, a former employee of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), had told Tunde that the bank’s MD, Adam Nuru, was the real father of the children.
It was alleged that Moyo had left Nigeria for the United States with the kids had called Tunde from the US to break the news to him.
Tunde was said to have died as a result of the shock.
Friends and family of Moyo had taken to social media to speak in her defence.
But in a statement on Friday, Moyo finally broke her silence on the matter.
In her statement, she denied ever telling her late husband that he was not the father of her children.
“I write in reference to all the allegations and accusations that have recently been making the rounds on the internet and various social media platforms. I have refrained from responding to this matter for various reasons, one of which is to preserve the memories of Tunde who departed to be with his maker on December 16, 2020. Memories, not only to me, but to his children, who are still young, and to everybody who had a relationship with him,” she said.
“Just like any marriage, Tunde and I had a lot of differences in our marriage, some of which even led to police intervention. But I remain committed to keeping only positive memories of him. No one can ever understand what transpired between us or what each of us experienced in the marriage; like they say, it is he who wears the shoes that knows where it pinches. In all of it, I never for once wished him bad. His untimely and sudden death is still a shock to me as it is to many others.
“On no occasion did I ever tell him he was not the father of our two children. It is therefore deliberate falsehood and certainly malicious to allege and insinuate that I informed him that the children are not his. The children still bear his name. Only God knows why he died in an untimely period. It is not in my place, or anyone’s place to play God and talk with certainty as to the cause of his death, without proven medical facts.
“Despite our separation, we never allowed our differences affect the relationships we respectively have with the children. He still had conversations with the children like any father will, up until his sudden and unfortunate death. It is quite sad and disheartening to see the pictures of these innocent children splashed all over the internet with very disparaging and weird comments.
“I do wish his family and friends the fortitude to bear the unfortunate loss and I ask that we all be allowed to grieve his loss in peace. He has now been laid to rest and we implore all and sundry to please respect our privacy and allow those grieving his loss, including the children and I, to do so in peace.”
Nuru, who has proceeded on leave as the bank investigates the allegations, has denied the allegations relating to the paternity of the children.

Unite against Israel to better humanity, Fani-Kayode task Christians, Muslims
Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has called for Christians and Muslims to unite against Israel, drawing parallels between its actions and those of Nazi Germany.
FFK’s message, shared on various platforms, urged Catholics, Protestants, Shia, and Sunni Muslims to set aside their differences and jointly oppose what he termed as the “evil and demonic agenda” of Zionists and the state of Israel.
In his statement, FFK condemned Israel’s alleged history of carnage, ethnic cleansing, genocide, and mass murder, as well as its purported perpetuation of racism, apartheid, religious intolerance, and injustice. He questioned the legitimacy of Israel’s claim to be God’s chosen people, particularly in light of its perceived disregard for human life and suffering, including the targeting of women, children, and babies.

By likening Israel’s actions to those of Nazi Germany, FFK sought to underscore the severity of the situation, accusing the state of accumulating “much blood on its hands” comparable to the atrocities of the past. He distinguished between the historical Israel of King David, which he portrayed as reverent toward God, and the contemporary Israel under leaders like Benjamin Netanyahu, whom he accused of espousing hatred and aligning with evil forces.

Why we withdrew appeal against Kogi court order on Yahaya Bello – EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a notice to withdraw an appeal against an order of a Kogi High Court restraining it from arresting the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.
The EFCC said the withdrawal notice dated April 22 was based on the fact that events had overtaken the appeal.
The commission also admitted that the appeal was filed within the time allowed by law.
“The appellant herein intends to and do hereby wholly withdraw her appeal against the respondent in the above-mentioned appeal,” the notice partly read.
“This notice of withdrawal is predicated on the fact that on the 17th of April 2024, the application filed by the appellant herein was overtaken by the decision of the same high court of Kogi State.
The EFCC is prosecuting Bello on 19 counts bordering on alleged money laundering, breach of trust, and misappropriation of funds to the tune of N80.2 billion. The matter is before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
