NOLLYWOOD stars Zack Orji, Saidi Balogun and Foluke Daramola joined a list of creatives under the aegis of Ambassadors for Change Initiative to meet  Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the week.

The popular film stars were received in audience by the APC presidential candidate where they expressed their support to his candidacy.

Zack Orji pledged that the group would stand by the APC presidential candidate until he wins the February 25, 2023 election.

“I have been in Lagos for many years and it has always been the safest place to stay in. It is a state where people from different parts of the country have found inclusion and accommodation,” he said.

In the same vein, Saidi Balogun commended Tinubu for being a pathfinder and mentor of many other leaders, pointing out that those in political limelight today were products of Asiwaju’s mentoring and leadership.

In his response, Tinubu charged the film stars to double their efforts saying, “As entertainers and filmmakers, you represent a key channel of reaching the people and disseminating important messages. You are the ones to help sell our country at home and abroad so that people change their mindset about Nigeria. The entertainment industry is at the heart and soul of our country. You are the creative people, the thinkers and doers.”

Others present at the meeting include Gentle Jack, Danfo Driver and Benedict Johnson.

Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe has shared insights into her decision to marry popular movie marketer Kazim Adeoti, also known as Adekaz.

Speaking as a guest on Nollywood on Radio, Aigbe revealed that having a partner within the entertainment industry was a significant factor in her choice.

“One of the reasons I married him is that we’re both in the same industry,” Aigbe explained. “Together, we’re building a production empire. I just felt I needed someone in the industry to collaborate with, and it’s a good thing that he understands it too. Combining our strengths, the future looks promising.

Aigbe’s 2023 cinema movie, Ada Omo Daddy, has already showcased the synergy between her and Adeoti, marking her successful cinema debut. Reflecting on the project’s reception, she said, “The feedback was amazing. I was a bit nervous as it was my first cinema debut, and there was heavy competition from established names in the cinema sector. But I was confident because I knew I had a sellable product.”

 Aigbe also added that her intention is to be on all platforms she can make money from.

“I wont just be on cinemas I will be on all paltforms I can make money from”

Why I almost poisoned myself – Actress Eniola Ajao

Popular actress and filmmaker Eniola Ajao recently shared a harrowing experience on Nollywood on Radio, a show dedicated to Nigerian cinema.

She revealed the emotional toll that false news online had taken on her mental health, describing how she once nearly poisoned herself in response to a hurtful rumour.

“I almost poisoned myself because there was news about me online that was far from true,” Ajao said. “It was the first time in my life that I faced something so painful. I didn’t eat for seven straight days. People around me can testify – I didn’t go anywhere.”

At the time, she was in the midst of planning her next film, a process that became increasingly difficult due to her emotional state. “My sisters were calling, telling me, ‘You have to do this for yourself. You don’t have to poison yourself.’ My son was reaching out to everyone, saying I was struggling with this lie online,” she shared.

The actress added, “I don’t even want to remember those things, honestly”, she recounted on the show.
