Yahaya Bello media team reveals plot to falsely label ex-Kogi gov security threat

We have uncovered a high-wired plan by some disgruntled enemies of the nation and persons on the Project Bring Down Yahaya Bello, to frame him up as one of the sponsors of the #EndBadGovernance protests across the country.

We wouldn’t have bothered to respond to a clout-chasing blackmailer and blackmail pawn, a hired gun in the hands of some unpatriotic Nigerians, Jackson Ude, who published a fake, malicious and unintelligent report about an imaginary involvement of His Excellency Alh Yahaya Bello in the ongoing protests across the country. But it is pertinent to respond to the tirades of falsehood by the writer because it borders on national security. Our resolve is further strengthened by the condemnable act of some protesters displaying the flags of other nations.

We consider the claims by the discredited Jackson Ude as reckless and irresponsibly malicious. Yahaya Bello is a patriot who had devoted his time, resources and energy to building a united and prosperous Nigeria.

It was Yahaya Bello who acted swiftly to resolve a major problem between the North and the South, which would have caused a major crisis in Nigeria. What threatened our fragile unity was resolved amicably on the negotiation table provided by Alh. Yahaya Bello when he mediated between the Northern food transporters and their Southern counterparts and brought them together as food exchange between the two regions was threatened. That move earned so much commendations by leaders of the country at that time.

In the build up to the 2023 Presidential Poll, a number of impediments and political cum economic landmines were laid on the road, including the Naira Redesign Policy. It was the same Yahaya Bello with some of his colleagues then that dared the system and secured the judgement that set that aside at the Supreme Court. It was a landmark intervention at a time that the nation was almost collapsing.

In the Presidential Poll, Alh. Yahaya Bello mobilized Kogites massively to deliver victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Can the masterminds of his persecution show the world the results in their state? He also mobilized the youth of the nation as the Youth Mobilization Committee Chairman because of his faith in the leadership capacity of Mr President.

Jackson Ude is a notorious blackmailer whose stock in trade is to manufacture fake news that target politically exposed persons with a view to milking them and also to serve the interests of his paymasters who are antidemocratic forces and enemies of Nigeria.

His latest post on social media where he made ridiculously outrageous claims of Yahaya Bello’s involvement in a phantom scheme to instigate a military coup is a further demonstration of the antics of some powerful people to ensure they put a wedge between the President and Alh. Yahaya Bello.

We are not unaware of this hireling’s connection with criminal interests who engage him to do their dirty political errands. With the multiple cases of defamation hanging on his neck, it is not difficult to understand the criminal blackmail enterprise run by Jackson Ude and his online army of fake news purveyors. No sane person should take serious, anything posted by this serial blackmailer who is, essentially, a persona non grata in Nigeria.

Former Governor Yahaya Bello is a patriot and democrat par excellence who will never do anything to upset Nigeria’s democratic status. More importantly, His Excellency Yahaya Bello invested his considerable energy, time and resources in supporting the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to whom he has remained loyal and committed to this day.

We call on the Police, Department of State Services, and other relevant agencies to investigate the claims of this serial blackmailer with a view to bringing him to book. This is a matter of national security, which must not be taken lightly.

We will take all necessary legal actions to get Ude to answer for his crimes.

For the records, even in the worst of times, HE Yahaya Bello has remained committed to the success of the All Progressives Congress government. He will continue to work for the progress, development and stability of Nigeria even in his private capacity. He is committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and will continue to do his utmost to support the president’s administration.

The intelligence agencies of Nigeria are not incompetent. They don’t need criminal minded elements to unravel treasonable activities. We urge them to zero in on the unpatriotic Nigerian and get to the roots of his claims. We have confidence in the security community to do a good job.

We state here categorically, unequivocally, and in the strongest of terms, that HE Alh Yahaya Bello has no hand and will never be interested in any act that tends to destabilize the country or disturb the peace, harmony and greatness of our dear nation.

We urge the general public to disregard the falsehood by Jackson Ude and rally support behind Mr President who is taking every necessary step to return our nation to greatness.

Signed:
Ohiare Michael

Salary: FG vows to prosecute private employers paying below N70,000

The Federal Government has warned companies in the private sectors against paying below the new minimum wage of N70,000.

This is even as the government implored agencies recruiting for the private sector to adhere to the N70,000 minimum wage.

The FG explained that the new minimum wage was aimed at cushioning the impact of the current harsh economic reality and failure to pay it would could attract severe penalty.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Kachollom Daju, made this known on Wednesday.

Speaking at the 13th Annual General Meeting of the Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria, held in Ikeja, Lagos, she noted the new minimum was now a law.

She stated that no Nigerian worker, whether in government or private employment, should be paid less than the minimum wage.

Daju, who was represented by the Director of Employment and Wages of the ministry, John Nyamali, said, “The minimum wage is now a law, and as a result, it is a punishable crime for any employer to pay less than N70,000 to any of its workers.

“The private employment agencies should make it compulsory in any contract they take from their principal that their workers should not earn less than the minimum wage. The least paid worker in Nigeria should earn N70,000, and I think that should be after all deductions.

“The minimum wage is a law, and you can be jailed if you fail to implement it. The Federal Government is committed to ensuring that the least paid worker goes home with N70,000.”

In his remarks, the President of the Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria, Dr. Olufemi Ogunlowo, asked the government and Nigeria Labour Congress to clarify whether the N70,000 minimum wage is net or gross, stating that all vague aspects in the Act should be highlighted and explained.

According to Okoye, the EAPEAN is already committed to the minimum wage, as well as providing decent jobs for Nigerians and guarding against the exploitation of human resources.

“As a labour union in the private sector, we are committed to the implementation of the minimum wage. We are a law-abiding and guided association. Our principals and clients have also keyed into the minimum wage.

“However, the government must clarify whether the N70,000 minimum wage is net or gross. The government and NLC should address all ambiguities in the minimum wage,” he stated.

Tinubu govt inherited hardship from Buhari administration – Emir

The Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Farouk Bahago, has stated that the economic challenges currently faced by Nigerians were inherited from the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari. The Emir made these remarks during a sensitisation event on federal government intervention programmes, organized by the Office of the Minister of Information and National Orientation in Minna, Niger State.

Represented by Alhaji Maikudi Achaza, the Hadinin Minna, the Emir praised President Bola Tinubu for his efforts in addressing the issues caused by past corruption. He pointed out that many citizens remain unaware of Tinubu’s initiatives due to inadequate communication, particularly in local languages.

Former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar also expressed concern about the worsening hardships faced by Nigerians. He urged the Tinubu administration to take urgent action to alleviate the suffering of the people. During a courtesy visit from the Campaign for Democracy and Human Rights, a Minna-based civil society group, Abdulsalami criticized the distribution of palliatives, stating they are not an effective solution to the rising cost of living.

He emphasized that leaders need to connect with ordinary citizens and understand their struggles, noting that high transportation costs, increased fuel prices, rising school fees, and lack of financial resources are making life difficult for many.

Abdulsalami proposed that the government should sell essential food items at reduced prices to help citizens cope with inflation, rather than relying solely on palliatives. He also urged Nigerians to remain peaceful ahead of the planned #EndBadGovernance protests on October 1, 2024, and advised the government not to take citizens for granted.

The Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, represented by Asabe Sule Garba, emphasized that the event aimed to raise awareness about the federal government’s efforts to improve the lives of citizens. He reiterated President Tinubu’s commitment to accountability and transparency and called for public support.

FG mulls new system against fraud, to enhance identity verification

The Federal Government has raised concerns about foreigners misusing Nigerian identities and harming the country’s reputation abroad.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, announced plans to harmonise Nigeria’s citizenship database to improve individual and corporate identity management.
