Amaechi offers to help FG tackle rising killings, kidnappings, terror attacks
Former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has expressed his readiness to assist the federal government in curbing the escalating wave of killings, kidnappings, and terrorist attacks across Nigeria.
Amaechi, who previously served as Governor of Rivers State, said his experience demonstrates that effective security solutions are achievable. “We did it in Rivers State; it can be done in the country. We are prepared to help if you request help,” he stated.
The former minister lamented the government’s inadequate protection for citizens, citing recent mass abductions and coordinated attacks on communities as evidence of a deteriorating security situation. He highlighted specific incidents, including:

Amaechi urged the government to strengthen military intelligence, sharpen counter-terrorism responses, and meet citizens’ expectations for safety.
“To Mr President: your primary assignment is the security of lives and property,” he said. “Enough of looking the other way or issuing statements of condemnation. Prioritising a summit or jetting out when Nigerians are dying can never be the trait of a good leader.”
He stressed that the moment calls for decisive leadership, enhanced intelligence coordination, and full accountability from security agencies.
