Entertainment Lagos is set to experience a major boost this December with the readiness of Mainland Laffs, a comedy show that offers a refreshing approach to family entertainment.

The event set to take place on December 5 in Ikeja is being organised by Trevent Company, one of the fastest growing event solution companies in Lagos.

Speaking about the idea behind the show, the Executive Producer of the Show, John Odiboh, said Lagosians would experience an exciting evening with their rich lineup of top comedians, actors and musicians at the event.

Those expected to entertain the audience with rib-cracking jokes, according to a statement by Odiboh, are top Nigerian comedians such as Josh2funny, Officer Woos, Ajebo, Ebute, Forever, Samll Stout, Oniru and several others while Nollywood legends, Ayo Mogaji and Dele Odule, are also billed to make a special stage appearance in a one of its king pantomime comedy drama.

Also billed are a variety of children virtuoso performances to build the culture of the arts into our youths.

He said, “The Mainland Laffs has the usual attractions like standup comedy, pantomine comedy, musical performances, and stage drama.

“However, because of our resolve to make this a family delight, there will also be children performances, play courts for children, arcade games and even photo booths.”

Odiboh also stated that the USP of Mainlandlaffs is Clean Entertainment, adding, “It’s all about family entertainment.”

He noted that gone were the days where families could come out together on Sunday afternoons and enjoy a comedy performance or entertainment evening together.

“We want to promote fun and entertainment, but in a healthy, wholesome way, that makes you happy yet in an and instructive and safe way. So, we expect our guests to feel free to come with their children, nieces and nephewstoenjoy that special family time out with good music, clean comedy/ music and loads of exciting games for the kids to enjoy,” he said.

Speaking on the choice of Ikeja for the show, the Creative Director of The Trevent Company, Olumide Campbell, said that this was a strategic choice to address the cliché among LagosiansthatLekki and Victoria Island are the only destinations for premium events.

He said, “This is why we picked a premium location that is a perfect fit for an event of this class, which is situated in the heart of the capital city of Lagos and also offers entertainment and convenience, from ample parking lot to high level security, serene environment, classy indoor aesthetics and lots more.

“With more events like this happening in Ikeja, there is really no need for residents of Ikorodu, Magodo, Iyana Ipaja, Isolo, Festac and other mainland neighborhoods to travel all the way to the island for premium entertainment.

“We are looking to host 175 guests on 25 regular tables, 60 guests on 10 VIP tables, 300 guests at the gallery, 10 million online and television viewers, 15 international acts including speacialmusical appearances by Chike, Ladipoe and Mimz as well as 20 exhibition booths featuring corporate exhibition stands, book stalls and fashion stands, amongst others.

“We are aware that in changing the narrative about what part of Lagos has the key to the best of entertainment, we will need a lot of media and brand support and we do hope that when corporate brands and our media friends see this event, they will agree that it is one that they should partner and support.”

Mohbad’s brother demands apology from actors for hacking into his account

Younger brother of the late Hip Hop singer ( Ileri-Oluwa Aloba), Adura Aloba, has demanded public apology from actors, Yomi Fabiyi, Damola Ayinde and others, for allegedly having unauthorised access to his social media Tiktok account and using same to disrepute him or face legal action.

Adura said: “The hacking of my personal Tiktok account had led to fraudulent posts, interactions, and messages being attributed to me without my knowledge or consent.

“Yomi Fabiyi posted a petition claiming to have communicated directly with me and there was evidence of this.

“However, the alleged messages were orchestrated by Damola Ayinde, who used my compromised account. Despite the evidence circulating that these malicious actions were the work of Damola Ayinde, Fabiyi has consistently continued to publicly malign me.

“He even visited the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja, but has also refused to withdraw his statements or tender an apology. Instead, he has persisted in tarnishing my name, which I find to be malicious.

“My primary goal is to prove my innocence and expose the malicious actions of those who have tried to tarnish my reputation.

“I also demand that Mr. Yomi Fabiyi ceases his defamatory actions, retract his statements, and issue a public apology for the harm he has caused me.

“I stand firm in my pursuit of justice and fairness, and I appreciate the public’s support as I fight to clear my name.”
