Why I have no regrets killing Salome Adaidu – Timileyin Ajayi
Why I have no regrets killing Salome Adaidu – Timileyin Ajayi
A 32-year-old man, Timileyin Ajayi, who was found with the head of a young lady, Salome Adaidu, has said he does not regret killing her.
He said he murdered the lady because she was cheating on him with other men.
Ajayi has been remanded in the Criminal Investigation Department of the Nasarawa State Police Command in Lafia, the state capital.
He spoke with Channels TV, saying, “She was cheating. She hid most of the things from me. I got to know from her phone. I saw her chats with other guys on the phone.
“I don’t have any regrets. You have to understand what that person is going through so that you can actually put yourself in the position that the person is going through. That is why I don’t have any regrets because we were actually compatible.”

We don’t know him – Salome’s family
However, Salome’s elder sister, Esther Adaidu, denied that any relationship existed between her deceased sister and the suspect, as she pleaded for justice.
She said: “This so-called Timi guy, we don’t know him.
“We have never seen him until we were called up to tell us that this guy murdered and dismembered our sister.
“I demand and need justice to be served to this guy sitting over there, because he is the one that murdered my sister and he confirmed it to me.”
Salome’s uncle, Samson Adaidu, spoke for the family: “The position of the family is we discovered this through the Nigerian Police and we are expecting justice from the police.
“He has succeeded in destroying our daughter. Not ordinary killing, he butchered her into pieces. He cut that body into more than 50 pieces.
“And when you look at the whole thing, he is preparing that body for consumption because he cut them and left them in about six polythene bags.”
There’ll be justice – Police
Late Salome, aged 24, was a National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, member serving with Nicon Insurance in Abuja.
She had visited the suspect at his Papalana axis, New Karshi in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, residence.
Police has promised justice in the matter.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Nasarawa State Command, SP Ramhan Nansel, said: “Investigation is ongoing, and upon conclusion he will be arraigned in court for prosecution.
“I want to assure the family and members of the public that this suspect will not be spared if found wanting.
“We are calling on members of the public, who may have any complaints against the suspect to come forward with their complaints and it will be looked into and investigated.”

FG to build 10,000 houses for medical workers
The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has unveiled plans to develop 10,000 housing units nationwide under the Renewed Hope Medic Cities initiative.
This project aims to address the housing challenges faced by medical professionals across the country.
In a statement released on Friday, Ahmed Dangiwa, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, highlighted the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of healthcare workers. The statement, signed by Salisu Haiba, Director of Press and Public Relations, emphasized the need for affordable and decent housing for medical personnel.
Speaking during a meeting with the leadership of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), Dangiwa commended healthcare workers for their dedication, particularly in challenging environments. He reiterated that ensuring their access to quality housing aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the Ministry’s objectives.
“Housing is a fundamental need that directly impacts productivity, stability, and quality of life. We recognise the difficulties many healthcare workers face in securing suitable accommodation, particularly in high-demand urban centres where medical facilities are concentrated,” Dangiwa stated.

To address these challenges, the minister underscored the importance of collaboration between the government and professional associations. He revealed that 10,112 housing units are currently under construction in 14 locations across the country as part of the Renewed Hope Housing Agenda.
“These include 3,112 units in Karsana, Abuja; 2,000 units in Lagos; and 2,000 units in Kano. Additionally, 12 ongoing Renewed Hope Estates with 250 units each are being developed across 12 states, with plans to extend to the remaining 18 states,” he said.
Dangiwa also outlined various ownership plans for the housing units, including National Housing Funds (NHF) mortgage loans of up to 30 years, rent-to-own options, installment payments, and outright purchase.
He noted that an online portal (http://renewedhopehomes.fmhud.gov.ng) has been set up for easy application.
Dr. Tope Osundara, President of NARD, applauded the ministry’s efforts, emphasizing the significance of housing in enhancing doctors’ ability to respond promptly to emergencies while addressing issues like brain drain. He proposed the development of 1,000 housing units in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as part of the first phase of the project.
Dr. Suleiman Sadiq, a representative of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) and a member of NARD, explained that the initiative would be implemented through partnerships involving the Ministries of Housing and Health, the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, REDAN, and private sector players.
Construction is expected to commence between January and February, aiming to improve healthcare workers’ living conditions, boost morale, and enhance productivity in the sector.

The media team for the newly appointed Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has issued a strong rebuke against recent reports suggesting that the monarch has abandoned traditional rites midway through the process.
While speaking with Saturday Vanguard, a key member of the team, Bode Durojaiye, characterised the report as not only misleading but also alarmingly deceptive.
“This headline is designed to mislead the public and misrepresent the esteemed Alaafin throne,” he asserted, emphasizing that the content of the article fails to align with its sensationalised headline.
Clarifying the situation, Durojaiye stated that Oba Owoade has not yet commenced the traditional rites required for his coronation, which is scheduled for April 4, 2025.
“It is impossible for the Alaafin to abandon rites he has not even begun. The report itself acknowledges this fact,” he noted, referencing the publication’s admission about the timeline.

He further explained that the Oyo State Government is fully informed of the Alaafin’s movements and supports his decisions, reinforcing that there is no discord regarding his absence.
“Once traditional rites begin, they cannot be paused or interrupted. Tradition dictates that these rites must be completed without deviation,” Durojaiye reiterated.
Addressing the necessity of the Alaafin’s trip, he clarified that it falls well within the timeline leading up to his coronation, saying, “Oba Owoade returned to Canada solely to manage his professional responsibilities and ensure everything is in order before his upcoming coronation.”
Durojaiye urged the media to exercise greater caution when reporting on matters of cultural significance and traditional leadership.
“We must respect our rich heritage and the values that distinguish our society. Misrepresenting these elements only serves to undermine our cultural identity,” he emphasised.
