Bandits kidnap four female farmers in Enugu

At least four women have been abducted in Ogurugu community in the Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State.

They were reportedly kidnapped on Tuesday when bandits suspected to be herders invaded the community.

Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area has become a hotbed of plethora of criminal and nefarious activities as herders and other local militias wreaked havoc on the beleaguered enclave.

Recently, some gunmen took over the Ogboli axis and Ogurugu community, kidnapping people, a community source told SaharaReporters on Thursday.

A community member identified as Nick Ogbebe, confirmed the incident, lamenting the spate of kidnapping and worsening insecurity in the area

He said, “On Tuesday, four people were kidnapped in Ogurugu community.

“These are poor mothers and farmers who are working in a new palm plantation company here in Ogurugu in order to support their husbands in the smooth running of their homes.

“For now, no information of their whereabouts. One of my cousins is one of them.”

“Please, we request for your prayers. I wonder what will happen in the coming farming season,” he added.

The Enugu state police command spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, has not commented on the incident.

Kwara NSCDC arrests man involved in abduction of ex-employer, two sons
The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a suspected kidnapper, Abu Umar.
Addressing journalists at the Command headquarters in Ilorin on Monday, 2nd December 2024, the State Commandant, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, disclosed that the suspect was allegedly involved in the abduction of one Isiaka Halimah, and her two sons, Kabir Isiaka and Hassan Isiaka, on 7th November 2024, in the Gidanrogo area of Ajase-Ipo, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The commandant further revealed that the suspect had previously worked for the family of the abducted victims.
He was tracked and arrested after the kidnappers used his phone number to contact the family of the victims.
“The suspect is currently assisting the NSCDC in our efforts to apprehend other members of the syndicate, who are still at large, and to secure the release of the victims,” he explained.
Dr. Umar reiterated the Command’s commitment to combating criminal activities and ensuring the safety and security of residents across the state.

A Nigerian woman has narrated how her 2-year-old daughter was allegedly s3xually abused by her female school teacher identified as Aunty Oluoma.

In a clip posted by lowdownstation on Instagram, the mother who introduced herself as Ndube Victoria, said that her daughter told her that the teacher inserted scissors into her private part.

According to the mother, when her daughter returned from school on the 18th of November, the little girl complained that she was feeling pain in her private part.

While bathing her daughter in the night, she made a similar complaint.

Upon examination, she discovered injuries in her daughter’s private part.

That was when the minor revealed that the teacher inserted scissors into her private part.

She said her daughter was taken to a hospital where she was examined and a doctor confirmed that the minor was s3xually abused.

Her hymen is still intact as there was no penetration, the woman added.

Lagos driver arraigned for allegedly colluding with robbers to steal company’s vehicle
A 38-year old security company driver, Olukan Adeyemi Peter, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly conspiring with armed robbers to steal a N28m security vehicle belonging to Balance Security Services Ltd.
Newstrends reports that the incident happened on October,2024 at Capitol Road, Agege area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect was employed as a driver of the security company and he allegedly conspired with others now at large and stole the vehicle.
The matter was reported to the Police at Isokoko Division. The suspect was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the missing vehicle.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State.
Count one: “That you, Olukan Adeyemi Peter ‘m’ and others at large on the 7th day of October, 2024 at about 0445hrs at Capitol Road, Agege Lagos within Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit armed robbery and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 297 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

Count two:”That you, Olukan Adeyemi Peter and others now at large, at the same date, place and others at large, being the driver of one Toyota Hilux Pick-Up, Gray Colour with Registration Number KE 885 HP, did steal one Toyota Hilux Pick-Up valued Twenty Eight Million Naira (28,000,000.00) property of one Balance Security Services Ltd and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since the defendant pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
