New Era Autovehicle Services Limited on Wednesday, June 18, unveiled Nigeria’s first exclusive Jetour showroom in Lekki, Lagos — a landmark move set to reshape the country’s automotive landscape.
The state-of-the-art facility was launched in a high-profile ceremony attended by top industry stakeholders, including Chief Michael Ade.Ojo, Chairman of Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL); MD of TNL, Kunle Ade-Ojo, and former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi.
Chief Ade.Ojo, who officially commissioned the showroom as guest of honour, praised the Jetour brand for its rugged design and suitability for Nigeria’s challenging road and climate conditions.
He urged both individuals and organisations to consider Jetour for its durability and advanced technology.
“This initiative represents innovation, reliability, and a forward-looking vision for the auto industry,” he stated.
Delivering the keynote address, Kemi Koyejo, Managing Director of New Era Autovehicle Services, said the launch marked a transformative moment for mobility and customer experience in Nigeria.
“Today, we don’t just open a showroom; we begin a bold journey toward redefining automotive excellence in this country,” Koyejo declared.
“We are proud to introduce the first exclusive Jetour dealership — offering world-class technology, luxurious SUVs, rugged off-roaders, and cutting-edge electric vehicles to Nigerian consumers.”
She said the facility would serve as a comprehensive service hub, offering real-time access to Jetour vehicles, after-sales support, certified pre-owned cars, competitive pricing, and flexible financing options.
Highlighting the company’s green commitment, Koyejo announced an expanding lineup of hybrid and electric vehicles aimed at reducing carbon emissions and supporting a more sustainable future.
She expressed gratitude to Jetour Mobility Services Nigeria Limited for its support and acknowledged her business partner, Mr. Raf Abanum, for his consistent encouragement.
Guests at the event were given an exclusive tour of the showroom, which showcased Jetour’s full range — from luxury models to adventure-ready vehicles.
The new facility is expected to significantly boost the brand’s market presence and responsiveness to Nigeria’s growing demand for affordable, technologically advanced and durable vehicles.

Spiro, a pioneering Pan-African electric mobility company driving sustainable transportation across the continent, has been selected for the prestigious 2025 Regional Platforms for Climate Projects (RPCP) Pipeline.
The RPCP is an initiative under the leadership of the High-Level Champions, designed to mobilize capital for climate ventures and projects across developing countries and emerging markets.
Spiro is the largest electric mobility company in Africa operates the largest battery swapping infrastructure in eight countries in Africa.
The firm says it intends to transform the African economies through substitution of expensive imported fossil fuel-based transportation into affordable, and accessible electric mobility solutions locally made in Africa, by Africans, for Africa end the world.
A statement by the firm says this recognition highlights Spiro’s position as a leading climate leader, delivering cutting-edge, high-impact solutions that accelerate Africa’s transition to a low-carbon, sustainable future in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Founded in 2022, Spiro operates a vertically integrated platform that scales electric two-wheel mobility across eight African countries: Benin, Togo, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Cameroon, and Tanzania.
The company’s comprehensive business model encompasses four key revenue streams: electric bike sales through distribution partners and financiers; battery-as-a-service subscriptions supported by a rapidly expanding network of swap stations; after-sales services including spare parts and maintenance; and data monetization via licensing and analytics.
Spiro has deployed over 35,000 electric motorbikes and facilitated more than 20 million battery swaps, enabling over 500 million kilometres of CO₂-free travel and helping to avoid approximately 30,000 tons of carbon emissions.
Beyond its environmental impact, Spiro is driving significant economic and social benefits.
The company has created over 1,000 direct and indirect manufacturing jobs across its facilities in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Nigeria, with women representing more than 40% of the workforce.
Additionally, the Spiro Academy plays a pivotal role in training and upskilling local talent, supporting transitions into medium- and high-skilled employment opportunities.
Financially, Spiro’s growth has been robust, generating USD 23 million in revenue in 2024 and projecting a tenfold increase to USD 200 million in 2025.
To support its ambitious expansion plans, Spiro is currently raising USD 50 million in Series A funding to accelerate market growth, scale operations, and invest in research, development, and technological innovation.
The company has already secured USD 120 million in equity and USD 23 million in debt financing.
As part of the RPCP Pipeline, Spiro will gain valuable exposure at prominent climate-focused events, be featured in curated publications by the Climate Champions Team and partners and access a broad network of global climate stakeholders to foster collaboration and amplify impact.
This far, Spiro has achieved over half a billion kms of CO2 free travel, crossed 20 million battery swaps and operated over 600 battery swapping stations with more than 35,000 motor bikes in circulation.
Through its expanding regional production network and upcoming facilities in Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, and Rwanda, Spiro is committed to deliver affordable, locally manufactured electric mobility solutions at scale across Africa.

Many bjg organisations and prominent stakeholders have thrown their weight behind the forthcoming Nigeria Auto Industry Summit (NAISU) slated for July 31st, 2025 in Lagos.
The National Automotive Design and Development Council, Toyota Nigeria Limited, Carloha, Weststar Associates Limited, Lanre Shittu Motors (LSM) and Nord are among other stakeholders that have confirmed their participation in this year’s event.
Apart from NADDC, other major organisations partnering with NAJA to host this year’s programme are the Nigeria Association of Automotive Manufacturers (NAMA) and African Association of Automobile Manufacturers (AAAM).
Riding on the huge success of the maiden edition held last year and with a lot of interest coming stakeholders and prospective participants, NAJA says the event can only get better.
NAJA in a statement gave the main theme of this year’s Summit holding in Lagos as “NIGERIA FIRST: LOCAL CONTENT AS CATALYST FOR AUTOMOTIVE ECONOMY”.
It quoted Mike Ochonma, the Summit Organizing Committee Chairman, as saying, “Last year, NAJA premiered the Nigeria Auto Industry Summit (NAISU) as a platform for stakeholders and participants to converge and critically x-ray the auto industry and proffer solutions that will take the industry to greater heights for the benefits of all players in the industry and Nigerians at large.
“For this year, critical government agencies like NADDC, Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and others have also confirmed their participation for this year’s event.
Theodore Opara, Chairman of NAJA, also lent his voice, saying, “NAISU has come to stay as evidenced by the wholehearted embrace by the stakeholders in the auto industry.
“And the interests already received this year show that this event is on the right trajectory for the benefit of all in the industry.
“Also, this year promises to radically work on entrenching local content and work more on the long-awaited Auto Industry Development Plan of the federal government, which also remains a focal point of discussions in the sector.
“This year’s NAISU promises to be a better version of last year and plans are already in top gear to ensure all expectations are met and exceeded.”
