IPOB, Asari Dokubo renew war
The frosty relationship between the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and ex-militant leader, Asari Dokubo, resonated yesterday as the Biafra agitator group alleged Dokubo is hired to kill its members in Imo State.
A statement by the spokesperson of IPOB, Emma Powerful, further alleged that Dokubo recruited his men from Izon who he claimed have been killing innocent youths in the state. He warned that his group was running out of patient as in no distant time, they would get back at Dokubo and his men.
“Asari Dokubo being somebody who hates Ndigbo and Biafra agitation championed by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB members worldwide brought out his criminal gang to kill innocent Biafrans in Imo State in the name of chasing IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu.

“Therefore we are warning Izon people to caution Asari Dokubo. If Nigeria Government with all their military arsenal can’t stop IPOB, Asari Dokubo and his criminal gangs from kalabari are small fry to IPOB.
“Now that Asari Dokubo is displaying his ignorance and killing skills on our innocent citizens, nobody should blame IPOB when we lunch offensive attack against him and his Kalabari criminals in Imo State who followed him because we must get them.
“We are being restrained by blood ties between Izon and Igbos are the same because blood is ticker than water but such restrain is not permanent.
“However, when we come after Asari Dokubo and his criminal gangs operating in Imo State, Biafrans should know that IPOB don’t have problems with our Izon brethren, the problem are not Izon people but Asari Dokubo and his criminal gangs,” Powerful warned.

BREAKING: Port Harcourt refinery begins operation
Nigeria’s owned
After many postponements, the Port Harcourt Refinery has eventually commenced partial production of crude oil.
Spokesperson for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Olufemi Soneye, made this known on Tuesday.
The refinery which had been moribond for years is starting operation with 60 per cent refining capacity.
According to Soneye, the refinery is processing 60,000 barrels per day of crude.
The Port Harcourt refinery has a combined 250,000 barrels per day capacity.

Last week, the NNPC disclosed why the hitherto moribond but perennially-maintained and dollar-gulping Port Harcourt Refinery had not commenced operations.
The state-owned petroleum company had said the refinery would begin operation in September but the deadline did not materialise just like previous deadlines issued for the take-off of the refinery were not met.
The NNPC said it did not meet its last deadline and deliver the much-awaited refinery, which many observers and experts have touted as the panacea to Nigeria’s energy crisis, because of the challenges it encountered during the project.
There are exceptions that the refinery along with others, in Kaduna and Warri, will be fully privatised after their rehabilitation.

Ex-Edo Governor Obaseki on EFCC watch list, faces travel restrictions
Ex-Edo Governor Obaseki on EFCC watch list, faces travel restrictions
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has placed former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki on its watch list.
The development comes as the anti-graft agency commences an investigation into various transactions, including contracts awarded during Obaseki’s tenure as governor.
According to sources within the commission, Obaseki’s administration is under scrutiny, with a team of investigators working to unravel some of the transactions and contracts awarded during his time in office. Although the bulk of these transactions have not been directly linked to Obaseki, the commission is following leads and hopes to uncover substantial evidence.
A source said, “An investigation has commenced on his administration. He can’t just be invited until the work has got to a certain stage. Some team of crack investigators have been assigned to the case and have been trying to unravel some of the transactions including contracts awarded under his administration.

According to another source within the commission, all former governors, including Godwin Obaseki, are being watchlisted by the commission.
Obaseki, who stepped down as governor on November 12 after an eight-year tenure, had previously stated that the EFCC planned to arrest him soon after leaving office. However, he expressed his willingness to cooperate with the anti-graft agency and provide an account of his tenure.
Meanwhile, Obaseki’s successor, Governor Monday Okpebholo, on Sunday established a 14-member State Assets Verification Committee to investigate Obaseki’s tenure.
