Warri-based prophet, accomplice caught for faking miracles + Video
A Warri, Delta State-based man of God, Prophet Melody Adjija, has been caught alongside an accomplice for staging fake miracles.
The renowned man of God is the Founder and General Overseer of Light Way Ministries, aka The Last Bus Stop.
In his confession in police custody, Adjija admitted paying people N5,000 to fake miracles in his church located at Enerhen Road around Dolphin Micro-Finance Bank Warri, Delta State.

The prophet looked embarrassed in the video and was reluctant to look at the camera.
He was also accused by a background voice of praying for Yahoo Boys and using offerings members give in belief of the miracles to buy properties.
The interrogator also asked how much another accomplice who pretended to be a witch was given.
The prophet then confirmed that she was paid about N5,000 too.

The Supreme Court in Abuja has affirmed Oba Olatunji Kalejaiye’s removal from the throne, the Nloku of Iraye in Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The Apex court’s decision affirmed an earlier order of the Appeal Court asking Kalejaiye to stop parading himself as the Nloku of Iraye.
In the Supreme Court ruling delivered by Justice Uwani Musa Aba Aji, the Apex Court granted the application to strike out Kalejaiye’s appeal for lack of diligent prosecution, as prayed.
“Appeal number SC/CV11112022 is at this moment struck out for lack of diligent prosecution,”’ the Supreme Court ruled to end the embattled monarch’s troubled reign as Nloku of Iraye.

Justices Habeeb Adewale Abiru, M.M. Saulawa, Chioma Egondu Nwosu-Iheme, and Obande Festus Ogbuinya were with Justice Musa on the case.
The Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State had in September 2022, halted the reign of the deposed Nloku of Iraye, Oba Kalejaiye, while ruling on the case (Appeal No: CA/1B/255/2015 Suit No: HCS/65/2019, an appeal filed by Kalejaiye against his deposition in 2015 by a State High Court sitting in Sagamu.
The Justices of the Appeal Court, led by Hon. Justice Moore A. A. Adumein, ruled that “the appeal lacked merit and is hereby dismissed. The Judgment of Hon. Justice Olugbenga Ogunfowora is hereby affirmed.”
Speaking on the Supreme Court judgment, Pa Olu Salau, head of the Sugbada royal family appreciated the Justices for doing justice to the matter brought before them in a brilliant, comprehensive, and incisive manner. He urged all parties in the dispute to accept the judgment as the will of God and the wishes of the good people of Iraye.

In a thrilling conclusion to the keenly contested Miss Universe 2024 competition, Nigeria’s representative Chidimma Adetshina has made history by emerging as the first runner-up at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant.
Miss Denmark – Victoria Kjaer Theilvig – emerged as winner of the contest. Theilvig takes over the crown from Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua.
The grand finale of the pageantry took place at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico.
This year marked the 73rd edition of the Miss Universe competition, showcasing fierce rivalry among 126 contestants representing countries worldwide, including 18 participants from African nations such as Nigeria, Angola, and Egypt.

Initially, Chidimma made it to the top 30 finalists and gradually rose to the top five contenders, ultimately securing the top two spot alongside Theilvig.
Adetshina made headlines a few months ago when she officially withdrew from the Miss South Africa 2024 beauty pageant after reaching its final stage.
Her decision followed concerns raised by some South Africans questioning her ties to the country.
However, in a remarkable turn of events, she later clinched the Miss Universe Nigeria title, while representing Taraba State.

St. Charles Old Boys holds commendation service for Lagbaja
St Charles Grammar School Osogbo Old Boys Association (SCOBA) on Friday held a Commendation Service for the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
The Commendation Service held at St Lawrence Catholic Church, Osogbo, Osun State, was attended by SCOBA members, students, and staff of St Charles Grammar School among other people in the state.
SCOBA Global General Secretary, Mr. Leye Odetoyinbo, one of the founding fathers of SCOBA, Professor Benjamin Babatunde, and the Principal of St. Charles Grammar School, Osogbo who was Lagbaja’s schoolmate, Mr Ajayi Oluwatoyin and Rev. Fr. Femi Adetumji, a SCOBA member, described the death of the late Chief of Army Staff as a great loss.
They noted that Lagbaja lived an eventful life and would forever be remembered for what he contributed to the school and the nation.

Earlier on Thursday, SCOBA organised a funeral procession from the School to St. Benedict Catholic Church, Popo area in Osogbo, in honour of Lagbaja, and students and staff of the school joined the procession.
Lagbaja attended St. Charles Grammar School, Osogbo, and contributed significantly to infrastructural development in the school as a member of the Old Boys Association.
The Catholic Bishop of Osogbo, Most Rev. John Oyejola said Lagbaja lived a life worthy of emulation. He prayed to God to grant him rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Oyejola said “I’m happy that he was able to do the things he did for the school. He made the school a beautiful place for others that would come to the school not just to learn in the classrooms but also to participate in sporting activities, acquire skills, and use that to serve the nation.”
“I charge everybody to emulate him. Don’t delay, please. Time waits for nobody. Thank God he did what he did. And it’s going to be there forever.
