KWAM1 Seeks Court Injunction to Block Installation of New Awujale of Ijebuland
Fuji music legend Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Adesanya, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate (KWAM1), has approached the Ogun State High Court, Ijebu-Ode, seeking an interim injunction to restrain Governor Dapo Abiodun and five others from proceeding with the installation of a new Awujale of Ijebuland.
The respondents in the suit include the Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Secretary of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, the Chairman of the Awujale Interregnum Administrative Council, and the Chairman of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House.
K1 De Ultimate has expressed interest in ascending the vacant Awujale stool, claiming membership in the Jadiara Royal House within the larger Fusengbuwa Ruling House. However, the family has rejected his claim, asserting that he has no ancestral link with the Fusengbuwa Ruling House.

In a motion ex parte filed before High Court 2 (Suit No: HC3/238/2025) on December 16, 2025, Ayinde cited Order 38 Rule 4 and Order 39 Rule 1 of the Ogun State High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2024, Section 36 of the 1999 Constitution, and the inherent jurisdiction of the court.
The application seeks to halt any further action in the Awujale selection process, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit, arguing that the injunction is necessary to protect his interest and preserve the subject matter of the dispute from tampering or dissipation.
No date has yet been fixed for the hearing of the suit, as the legal process continues to unfold.
