Comic actor, Dejo Tunfulu, buried amid wailing
Yoruba comic actor, Kunle Adetokunbo, popularly called Dejo Tunfulu, has been laid to rest in the Agbowa area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Tunfulu died on Friday morning after battling a brief illness.
His children and relations at the funeral wept uncontrollably.
Dejo was said to have died at the Ikorodu General Hospital, Lagos where he was being treated for an undisclosed ailment.
President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, known as Mr Latin, had confirmed his death early Friday.
“Yes, it is confirmed. He died in a hospital this morning. But I am yet to get full details of the incident,” he said.
A fellow actor, Kunle Afod, expressing shock over Dejo’s death in a post on Instagram on Friday morning, said,
“Dejo, this is so sad. Still can’t believe this,” he wrote.
Fans of the late actor have also been paying tribute to him on Instagram and other social media platforms.
The late actor, during his lifetime, was famed for playing the role of a clown in movies, bringing laughter and joy to his fans across the country and beyond.

Aigbe’s 2023 cinema movie, Ada Omo Daddy, has already showcased the synergy between her and Adeoti, marking her successful cinema debut. Reflecting on the project’s reception, she said, “The feedback was amazing. I was a bit nervous as it was my first cinema debut, and there was heavy competition from established names in the cinema sector. But I was confident because I knew I had a sellable product.”
Aigbe also added that her intention is to be on all platforms she can make money from.
“I wont just be on cinemas I will be on all paltforms I can make money from”

Popular actress and filmmaker Eniola Ajao recently shared a harrowing experience on Nollywood on Radio, a show dedicated to Nigerian cinema.
She revealed the emotional toll that false news online had taken on her mental health, describing how she once nearly poisoned herself in response to a hurtful rumour.
“I almost poisoned myself because there was news about me online that was far from true,” Ajao said. “It was the first time in my life that I faced something so painful. I didn’t eat for seven straight days. People around me can testify – I didn’t go anywhere.”

At the time, she was in the midst of planning her next film, a process that became increasingly difficult due to her emotional state. “My sisters were calling, telling me, ‘You have to do this for yourself. You don’t have to poison yourself.’ My son was reaching out to everyone, saying I was struggling with this lie online,” she shared.
The actress added, “I don’t even want to remember those things, honestly”, she recounted on the show.
