Lagos State Police Command has apprehended renowned musician Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, for failing to settle a debt incurred during the purchase of a G-Wagon from a local car dealer.
According to reports from PUNCH Online, Portable allegedly purchased the luxury vehicle valued at N27 million but only paid N13 million upfront, neglecting the remaining N14 million balance. Despite repeated requests from the car dealer to fulfill his payment obligations, Portable allegedly cited issues with the vehicle’s quality as a reason for withholding payment.

Controversial singer Portable apologises to Saheed Osupa over copyright dispute
Controversial hip-hop artist, Portable, has publicly apologised to Fuji musician, King Saheed Osupa, for referring to him as “big for nothing.” The apology comes after Portable faced widespread criticism for his disrespectful remarks towards the Fuji legend.
The dispute began when Portable used a line from King Saheed’s song in one of his tracks, leading to allegations of copyright infringement. Osupa’s distribution team reportedly filed a complaint, resulting in the removal of Portable’s song from major streaming platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Portable expressed regret for his earlier outburst, attributing his actions to his temperament. He appealed to his fans and King Saheed Osupa for forgiveness, acknowledging the role of financial disputes in the conflict.
“My fans, I’m a hot-tempered person. I have said my mind, and it has ended. My fans, please forgive me. King Saheed Osupa, Oba Orin, please don’t be offended. It’s money that causes fights. It’s money that destroys relationships between siblings and even between father and son. It was music money that caused our fight because it was when I went to collect money for the song that I was told it had been removed from streaming platforms. Please, my daddy, forgive me and accept me as your child,” Portable pleaded.

Nigerian music star Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has promised to purchase a house for his father, Fatai Odunsi, and cover his medical expenses.
This comes just days after Odunsi publicly accused Asake of abandoning him since his health started declining in 2022.
Odunsi, who has been battling stroke, alleged that despite Asake’s fame and fortune, he had not been financially supportive.
However, in a new video released on Sunday, Odunsi confirmed that his son has now reached out to him.
Speaking in Yoruba, he expressed pride in Asake and showered him with prayers.
He added that he called out Asake because it had been a long time since he saw him.

He further revealed that Asake has instructed real estate agents to find him a new home, saying “Asake said he will do everything that I want. We have settled, no more problems. They are now looking for a new house that he will buy for me. He has settled everything.”
Additionally, Odunsi confirmed that Asake has agreed to take full responsibility for his 11-year-old daughter, Zeenat.
Odunsi said: “He has never denied his child, but he has now promised to take full responsibility for the child.”
He also mentioned that he would be going to the hospital the next day, as Asake had sent him all the necessary funds for his treatment.

Asake’s family demands N50m house for ailing father

Asake’s family demands N50m house for ailing father
The family of the popular Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Ahmed Ololade, also known as Asake, has asked him to take responsibility for his ailing father, Fatai Odunsi, and alleged daughter, Zeenat.
In a viral video, Odunsi had accused Asake of abandonment, saying that he has been battling a stroke since 2022.
The aged man alleged that the singer continued to ignore his calls despite his failing health. He also sought financial assistance from the public.
He said: “I am the father to Asake who is singing. The last time I saw him was when this thing happened to me on March 29, 2022.
“He does not pick up my calls anytime I call him. Now I have become tired. I have been looking for this my brother and I recently met with him.”
Reacting to the controversy, Asake took to social media on Friday and dropped a cryptic message.
“You can’t please everyone, you can’t please the world. But anything you are doing, just do it for God.
“My own father wants to cajole me, and I have sent so much money to him. I have struggled for so many years, but they want to make me get tired of life,” Asake said while singing in Yoruba.

On Saturday, the situation escalated when Odunsi and his family revealed additional details about their grievances with the singer.
In a viral video, the family, speaking through a female representative, claimed Asake abandoned his alleged 11-year-old daughter, Zeenat and made specific demands from him.
The family said: “I’m begging you, Asake; you’ll grow old one day, so please take care of your father. Asake needs to come and do what is required. Even if Nigerians contributed N10 billion to Mr Odunsi, Asake’s N1 million would make him happier than he is today. The Quran says we will reap whatever we sow in this life. Ololade, Mr Money, we want you to continue growing, and God will keep blessing you. May God also help you to support your father.
“I won’t go into your mother’s issue, but you must do the right thing and care for your father. In Isale Eko, you can find a house worth N40 million or N50 million. You could buy one for your father so he can live off the rent if you don’t want to provide for him directly.
“If you don’t want to take care of him, at least buy a house worth N50 million in his name, and he will survive on the rent. He’s not asking for much.
“Also, if you are in doubt about Zeenat, the mother has agreed to a DNA test.”
The former YBNL Nation and Empire Distribution signee is yet to respond to the family’s latest claims.
